Today you should read: Psalm 33

I always love the Psalms that start with praise to God. This particular one draws our attention to four of God’s attributes that most certainly deserve our praise. We see God as Creator, sustainer, righteous, and just. As we think about these attributes of God look to see where they are being shown in your own life. Obviously, we can all thank God that He created us and that we are sustained each moment of every day. Where in your life do you see God’s righteousness and justice? Praise Him for it today.

The rest of the Psalm focuses on the fact that God sees and sustains those who revere and honor Him as God. For those who don’t, He judges and will eventually destroy. We cannot best God. His plans will happen and His purposes will be fulfilled. Doesn’t that make you excited and relieved? We should rejoice in the fact that “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.” God will finish what He started to bring good to those who love Him. So, who is your “help” and you “shield?” Are you trusting in the “size of your army” or the “horse’s strength?” Is God your shield? Is God your hope? If not, make Him your hope and shield today by trusting and waiting on Him as He reveals the plans He has for you!!

  1. Good Word Robbie- this psalm always reminds me of this chorus ” God is my refuge and my strength , a present help in time of need. He is my fortress ,my deliverer, my Father my Friend indeed. Yea though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no harm . His rod and his staff they will comfort me and He will not leave me alone. ” I am so glad he is not going to leave me in this desert place that I have created and is going to finish the work he has started in me. I would like to share a prayer that I try to pray everyday , it works for me ” Dear Lord , I shod my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. I gird my loins with the belt of truth . I put on the breastplate of righteousness , I carry the sword of the Spirit ,the Word of God, and I hide it in my heart that I might not sin against you Lord . I carry the shield of faith which quenches the firey darts of satan and I put on the helmet of Salvation, which guards my mind from evil thoughts. I take every thought captive in obedience to jesus Christ and I give my heart, my soul and my mind to you in Jesus ‘ name Amen Bless you all .
