Today you should read: Jeremiah 24

I will give them hearts that recognize me as the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly.  Jeremiah 24:7

Everything we have has been given to us by our Heavenly Father.  Everything… and He’s a good giver!

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.  James 1:17

Our hearts are naturally bent away from God – there’s nothing good in us that would desire Him.

All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way…Isaiah 53:6

There is none righteous, not even one.  There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God.  Romans 3:10-11

God is the one who gives us a heart to seek Him and the ability to recognize Him as Lord.  He’s the one who calls us to be His people.  Aren’t you thankful today for God’s unfailing love and kindness toward you?  It’s overwhelming to think about…

He Initiates It

He Supports It

He Finishes It

All glory and honor to Him alone!

  1. What a good, gracious, and loving God!. He IS the good giver! I am reminded of the song……”There is none like you”. Praise Him and him alone!!

  2. Since God “is the one who gives us a heart to seek Him and the ability to recognize Him as Lord,” this is a good reminder to pray that God would do this for those we are sharing with or preparing to share with.

  3. I find it interesting that the people to whom God is giving a seeking heart are the same people He sent into captivity – the ones who from Jeremiah 21:8 must have willingly chosen life in the form of submitting to the bondage of a wicked foreign king. I am learning that through hardship my heart grows keener to God’s presence. He meets me differently as I embrace my captivity and seek Him in the midst of my trials. He is so very good to me.
