Today you should read: Job 12:13:25

True wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are His.(v.13)

God is the bottomless sea of true wisdom.  He knows everything – He’s never surprised – there’s never a new thought that occurs to Him – He never seeks counsel – or wonders if.  God knows everything about everything perfectly all the time.  True wisdom is found in God. (v.17, 20, 22, 24-25) God is all-powerful and supreme.  He holds all the power to create and keep the world in play.  He’s never without the might to do anything He wishes and never needs to ask for assistance from anyone.  He’s sovereignly in charge of everyone and everything in the world. (v.14-16, 18, 21, 23) Counsel and understanding are His – He is the source of both of these things.  It’s to Him that we go when we need to understand something.  We go to His Word and to Him in prayer.

Some thought-provoking questions today…

  • What have you tried to figure out in your own wisdom recently without consulting the infinite Wisdom of God through His Word and prayer?
  • When’s the last time you desperately went to Him for His power to heal a situation in your life?
  • How has God been a counselor to you in the last thirty days or so?

If you have time today – watch this video that proclaims the power and wisdom of our God…

  1. This takes me to the words of I Corinthians 2:9 this morning, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” We can count on that and his mighty power and strength that he exerted when he raised Jesus from the dead! I testify and praise him this morning for HIS power and wisdom. We would be lost without it!!
