Today you should read: Isaiah 54

What a beautiful picture of God’s faithfulness we see in our passage today. God’s people have, time and time again, turned from Him and served other gods and followed after the things of the world. Even though they do these evil things and live an unfaithful life toward God , He still remain true to His word of faithfulness to them.

We too often live our lives as they did. We follow after worthless idols and chase what the world calls us to and we leave God in order to do it, or at least greatly devalue Him in our hearts and lives. But thank the Lord He doesn’t reciprocate that to us. In fact we see 2 Timothy 2:13 the very essence of this point:

“If we are faithfulness, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself”

Aren’t you glad God’s faithfulness does not rely upon your ability to be faithful to Him? If it did no one would be in a good place. But as it stands it is God’s faithfulness the unless that outlasts ours. So As you go today remember to live faithfully and thank God that His faithfulness does not hinge on yours.
