One of the things that stands out to me from this chapter is the sovereignty of God. We see that the hand of the Lord is on David. We see another example of how God saves David out of the pursuit of Saul. Saul is wanting to kill David because David is going to be king. But time and time again we will see God shows who is His and how he provides for them.
It is with great joy that we can rest in the fact that when we are in Christ, we are in God’s hand. Of course, being in God’s hand does not mean that we will have a life of ease or comfort. David was literally fleeing Saul by going hiding in caves for his life.
But often we become discouraged in the moments where we are experiencing suffering because we forget who is truly in control. I hope today you can be encouraged as you’re reminded that God is in control of your future and you aren’t.
