Today you should read: Psalm 105

In Psalm 105 we are told to:

  • Thank the Lord (v. 1)
  • Sing to the Lord (v. 2)
  • Glorify Him (v. 3)
  • Seek the Lord (v. 4)
  • Remember His Works (v. 5)

And a big reason why God is worthy of such praise and glory is because of verse 7-45, where the author of Psalm 105 shows how the Lord makes and keeps His covenant. From Abraham (v. 9) to a remnant few (v.  12) to Moses (v. 26) and the miracle of the exodus, God reveals in detail through this chapter how He has stayed faithful to us because of the fulfilled promise He made in the relationship He gave us.

And again in verses 43-45, similar to the beginning of this Psalm, we can’t but help to sing out of joy and praise Him because He stays true to His promises.

Take some time today and think about the covenant He made with you through Jesus Christ. Do you thank Him for His forever faithfulness? Do you sing to Him in result of it? Do you glorify Him because of that covenant? Do you seek Him knowing He will never leave you and do you remember His works to make that promise even possible?
