Today you should read: Psalm 135
I love this Psalm! As I was reading through it I couldn’t help but think that it is a resume for the Lord. I love this so much because we as believers should always be thinking about how we can better share with others who God is. We have tons and tons of tools that we can utilize. Everything from 2 minute testimonies to Prepare to Share. But no matter what it is there should be a universal theme: the Lord. When it comes to sharing our faith with someone we can sometimes get caught up in the technicality of it all, or we freak ourselves out because we can’t remember “our lines.”
I have found myself in that same situation, which is why this Psalm speaks so loudly. This is an emphasis on what God has done. It is a look back on how God has changed the world, how He has shaped the world, and how He will deliver the world. When we speak to others about God, we need to remember that it is all about expressing who God is and what He has done. When we highlight who God is we open far more opportunities.
The reason that this is so impactful is because we highlight the Lord the way He has shown Himself to us: through His word. He has told us all that He has done and who He is, and what His plan is for the future. This does not mean that we don’t remember the practical ways to share the Gospel and interact with others. It is a strong reminder that God always has to be the highlight and the theme.
