Today you should read: Micah 4
This passage is about giving God the glory, honor and worship that he deserves.
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it, and many nations shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Micah 4:1-2
God deserves the proper place in our hearts, just like he did in the hearts of the Israelites. Even in the Old Testament, God desired all people to be gathered and drawn to Himself to worship and glorify Him.
There are so many things that distract us from giving God the glory, honor and worship that he deserves. Many times they are real and legitimate challenges and trials. The reality is that only God can provide everything we need, and he has done it through His Son Jesus.
It is through Jesus that we can give God the worship and love that he truly deserves.

Thanks for the commentary today Graham. I read the attached from Matthew Henry’s Commentary on Micah 4.
“The nations have not yet so submitted to the Prince of Peace, as to beat their swords into ploughshares, nor has war ceased. But very precious promises these are, relating to the gospel church, which will be more and more fulfilled, for He is faithful that has promised. There shall be a glorious church for God set up in the world, in the last days, in the days of the Messiah. Christ himself will build it upon a rock. The Gentiles worshipped their idol gods; but in the period spoken of, the people will cleave to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and delight in doing his will.”
This part of verse 3 really grabbed my attention this morning.
“and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore;”
America has multiple colleges and military academies designed to teach students and future military leaders the art & science of war. Our nation spends billions of dollars preparing for potential conflicts around the world and to keep our people safe. I’m grateful for the men and women who respond to the call to defend our nation. However, it will be a glorious day when we no longer “learn war anymore” and spend eternity worshipping The Prince of Peace.
Thanks for the added note! A great word that I hadn’t fully thought out.
