Today you should read: Deuteronomy 2:26-37
A verse that stands out to me today is the ending part of verse 36: “The LORD our God gave all into our hands.” (ESV) This is a great reminder to us that God is in control at all times, and that he is the one who gives blessing. The people are continuing their march to take possession of the land that God promised them. It’s interesting to think that even though they knew God had promised them the land, it still had challenges in taking possession of it.
God has promised a lot of things, but a life of ease and comfort were not one of them. God uses the challenging parts of our lives to grow us and change us in ways we would not have seen otherwise.

The KFV paraphrase (the Korbet Finley Version) for v.36, “remember to give thanks to the One who makes all these good things happen.” God plans all the good and the hard work expected of you for your hope and benefit.
Note and be careful of the hard heart of a king and what God has in store for all who are obstinate (v.30) toward their Creator.
Prayer time is foundational to the Lord’s work in your heart (v.31). Time well spent with the Lord aids you now (v.33-37) and for tomorrow.
